How this course will transform you
This course is about you taking control of what you can control. This course is about you not letting your current job situation or organization define who you are or what you want to do.
The course is about you taking the 1st step in getting out of your no future job and into the job that you have always dreamed of. Or, Maybe you're not looking for the job of your dreams, you just need to move on from the current job or update your skill set.
We want to share our story with you, how we transition from a profession that was hard to escape from and move into another career. We had to move beyond the traditional resume-network approach to break away from our elementary jobs into corporate learning. When everyone else saw “just a teacher”, we had to show them who we really were. We weren't “just” teachers, we were teachers and a whole lot more. They needed to see the proof of who we really were, along with the thoughts and ideas we could bring into their organizations.
We needed to develop our digital story!
What you will learn in this course:
You will leave this course with a structured personal digital story that will show the world who you are!
Hi, my name is Rich. I have spent the last 16 years of my life transforming the way we help others learn. I was lucky enough to be begin my career in the elementary classroom when educational technology was just beginning to ramp up. This was before the days of iPhones, Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, and YouTube. Taking the best of traditional learning and merging it with new educational technology became and still is my passion. After several years of successfully integrating technology into my elementary classroom, I was given the opportunity as a technology integration coach to help teachers make the same transformation in their classroom. After two years of teacher observations, coaching sessions, and consulting, combined with 10 years of helping lead an educational revolution, I decided to move out of public education and give corporate learning a try. During my corporate career, I was tagged as an innovative educator and given the opportunity to help develop a learning strategy for a corporation with 50,000 employees, transform traditional instructor-led training to virtual learning, and help countless employees learn how to take control of their own learning and development.
